What is Pest and Swot Analysis?

PEST
The PEST analysis is used to conduct the environmental analysis of a company.It determines what factors in the environment impact the activities of the firm. It is an analysis of the Political, social Environmental and Technological environmental factors.
Advantage: As Pet Delight is in a state of crisis and low sales the PEST analysis can serve as a tool for the firm to analyse whether any environmental factors are responsible for the crisis and take corrective actions such as the current economic slowdown. Pet Delight can also analysis what new technologies can serve as a tool for them to be ahead in competition.
This analysis will also enable Pet Delight to decide if the present environment of both the Brazilian pet market and the pet industry of USA is viable for them to venture the Brazilain pet food industry.
Limitations: As the pet industry is very dynamic it makes it tough for Pet Delight to access the trends of changes in the internal environment. Pet Delight might not have the resources and the finances needed for the collection of vast data required in this analysis.

Pet Delight can stress on the important factors that is affecting their business by this analysis. It will enable Pet Delight to address their weaknesses and overcome the treats and use the opportunities ot the maximum extent taking the advantage of its business strengths.
Disadvantages:
  • There is no prioritization of issues in this model
  • This analysis generates many ideas but does not emphasize on the usefulness of a particular idea to your firm
  • Not all the information produced by this analysis is useful
